SMSA teachers made great use of the Thanksgiving theme as they cooked up some clever lessons for their students.
For example, in Mrs. Sanok's Noah's Ark room, students tried to see things from a turkey's point of view, suggesting items that could be consumed in lieu of turkey. There were some interesting suggestions, including popsicles and jelly beans... In Mrs. Leland's third grade, students created "main idea and supporting detail" turkeys, based on the book, "If Animals Gave Thanks," by Ann Whitford Paul, while in Mrs. Smith's Noah's Ark, students created their own Thanksgiving food items...
