Outdoor Parade Route

The parade will commence at the SMSA playground and students will head north to Maple Street. They will then continue left to cross Ridge Street, go through Glens Falls City Park, continue down Glen Street, take a left back up Ridge Street to the light at Maple, then turn right back to Church St to finish back at the SMSA playground.

Parents are welcome to come line the parade route, so kids get a real “parade experience” and have

supporters to cheer them on. See route below:

Rain Plan | Indoor Parade Plan

In the case of rain, the parade will be conducted in the school gymnasium. Please see details below based on the age of your student. Due to indoor capacities in the gymnasium, we will be capping the attendees to 2 per child. We will send out advance notice if we are planning to move the parade indoors.

We ask that you enter the school through the playground/side door and teachers will be monitoring the doors for parent arrival starting at 12:45PM.

Indoor Parade Times:

ALL Noahs' Ark Students: Parade will commence at 1PM

ALL K-8 Students: Parade will commence at 1:45PM

Following each parade, students will go back to their homerooms and we will conduct a normal dismissal procedure.

Costume Ideas & Details

Costumes can be worn to school in place of uniforms on Halloween. Any head pieces or

masks must be removed according to the instructions of the teachers.

With so many possibilities for costumes, themes involving black magic, violence, horror movie

characters or other unsavory topics need to be avoided. We anticipate that many

children will find this guideline hard to follow, since many of these themes are broadly

marketed to them, but that provides a golden opportunity to discuss why your family

chose SMSA for them and how we are called to always consider our choices in light of

God’s role in our lives. Besides, costumes that might be scary to younger children will

mar a day that is meant to be festive and fun.

On Monday, October 31, students will follow their Tuesday class schedule through lunch. On Tuesday, November 1, SMSA will follow the normal Monday schedule, beginning with

All Saints Day Mass at 8:05AM. For more info on themed masses, click here.
