There is still room on the Ark!  Join us on Sunday, June 4, from 10-11:30 am to meet our teachers, see our classrooms, and learn about the finest preschool/day care program in the area.  We have limited openings for children ages 3-5 for the 2017-18 school year.  Don't miss the boat!  Call 792-3178 for more information.

And They're Off....

The Kentucky Derby wasn't the only big race of the past few days!  The annual Race for Education here at SMSA took place on Friday.  SMSA students filled the Robert J. Nolan gymnasium throughout the day, doing as many laps as possible and dreaming of the Cooper's Cave ice cream treats that awaited.  Many thanks to race organizer Rachel Hajos, to the teachers who helped the students send letters to families and friends asking for their support, to the race volunteers who kept the event moving smoothly, and - of course - special thanks to Patty Bethel and the folks at Coopers Cave for once again organizing the name-a-new-ice-cream competition and supplying the winning entry to all the racers!  This year's winning entry was from fifth-grader Emily Guidetti; "KitKat Kerries" proved to be a winner with all!

Sharing a Song...

We couldn't be more proud of our four flutists who, along with Mrs. Facklam's handbell choir from Our Lady of Annunciation parish, performed for the residents of The Landing in Queensbury this weekend... And thank you, Mrs. Facklam, for taking our student musicians on the road!

At SMSA, It's Game On!

SMSA students are benefitting from a healthy dose of health advice this year, thanks to a grant from the Action for Healthy Kids organization’s “Game On” project. School nurse Amy Mignot procured the grant and has developed a yearlong wellness program to help SMSA students learn to make smart food and exercise choices. The posters below are just a sampling of the practical reminders from which our students are benefitting. Thank you, Mrs. Mignot!
