Under the direction of a full-time Athletic Director and Physical Education Instructor, the SMSA sports program offers 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th graders the opportunity to experience the excitement of interscholastic team sports.
Operating under guidelines of the NYSPHSAA rules, SMSA Kerry Blue teams compete against local public and parochial schools in soccer, basketball, softball and baseball. The emphasis of the program is on a mastery of the fundamentals, and every child who is interested in playing finds a spot on the teams.
The newly renovated Robert J. Nolan Gymnasium at SMSA provides a comfortable, state-of-the-art training place and a wonderful home court for the basketball teams.
On its gleaming hardwoods, students learn lifelong lessons in sportsmanship, teamwork and healthy competition.
