Here are some important points to remember that make our scores even more impressive:

1. All SMSA students in the grades listed take these tests
2. Data for each school represents the percentage of students receiving that score
3. Scores of 3 and 4 represent "meeting or exceeding NYS standards, respectively."
4. The mean score indicates the average score of all students taking the test.  This number is particularly important because it shows that, although we have some students who struggle a great deal, they are able to achieve a score that helps us maintain an average score that is substantially higher than those of other schools.
